EA 0.11 Workshop Update

EA 0.11 “The Workshop Awakens” was the creator-tools and office-business milestone in mid-2026, the last major Early Access theme before Big Ambitions 1.0. If your save leans on Steam Workshop or travel/event agencies, this is the patch family that made them first-class. Timeline context: early access. Launch day: version 1.0.

Players had been asking for cleaner Workshop support and more desk-based businesses for a long time. 0.11 answered both without replacing the retail spine. You still need demand, customer caps, and payroll discipline — you just get better furniture pipelines and two new service formats that skip pallets.

Official Steam Workshop mods

Mods load through Steam Workshop instead of fragile third-party loaders. Hovgaard shipped sample Unity mods and tools so creators could target the live pipeline. Enable mods on a copy of a long save. Blueprints and mods are different — layouts versus code. Practical safety: workshop.

Treat every mod as experimental even when the pipeline is official. Analytic overlays, UI tweaks, and balance plugs can all break after a Tuesday hotfix. Keep a vanilla folder. If a mod fights 1.0, disable it before you file a bug that is really a Workshop conflict.

Competitive blueprints and version filters

Blueprint lists gained clearer game-version filters. Competitive-line interiors from interior firms added toilets, lockers, and cleaning stations across business types and sizes so “legal” layouts stopped being a weekend project. Ghost factory stations were cleaned up in this era. Always filter for 1.0 / 0.11+ before you subscribe to archaeology from 0.3.

Hand-build shop one anyway. A Competitive supermarket is a gift after you understand why a checkout wants space; it is a trap if you still think marketing beats customer capacity. Warehouse and factory blueprints belong after warehouses already feed a chain.

Travel and event planning agencies

Two office business types: travel agencies and event planning agencies, with their own staff, demand, and desk requirements. They diversify empires that already understand retail. Midtown travel offices can print hard when large and day-staffed; event offices can work with smaller teams if the board agrees. Full guide: office businesses.

Do not run them like nightclubs. Daytime weekday hours fit service desks. Raise prices gently, watch BizMan insights, and hire through the office-capable recruiter chain rather than forcing retail campaigns into specialist roles. Compare formats on the tier list before you open a second agency on the same block.

BizMan / MyEmployees filters and QoL

0.11-era notes and creator videos highlight better employee and business filters so large empires stop scrolling forever. Hotfixes continued after the theme launch — always read the latest Steam news for build numbers. Translation backfills for many UI languages also rode this period’s patches.

If you manage dozens of workers, filters matter as much as vans. Name desks, trim schedules with opening hours logic, and let HQ HR take training load from employees once the roster is too big to babysit.

What 1.0 did not remove

Workshop, Competitive layouts, and office agencies remain. 1.0 then added The Hamptons, banking/tax changes, Onyx driver, Speedy Bites, HQ pricing, furniture, minigames, and more achievements. Do not treat a 0.11 “final” video as the end of the roadmap — Hovgaard already pointed at post-1.0 updates and future DLC.

Achievements climbed to 126 at launch; mop-up tips live on achievements. Coastal luxury lives on The Hamptons, not in this patch page.
