Big Ambitions EA 0.10 — No Business Like Show Business
Cinemas, theaters, factory overhaul, and the Broadway neon pass.
EA 0.10 “No Business Like Show Business” was the entertainment and factory milestone before Big Ambitions 1.0. Preview branches opened in February 2026; live EA followed in March 2026 with hotfixes through the spring. Everything below still matters on a 1.0 save unless a later note explicitly removed it. For the full release, read version 1.0. For a shorter timeline, use the updates hub and early access.
Think of 0.10 as the patch that made Broadway feel like a district instead of a few fancy props, and that finally answered years of factory pathing complaints. If you only remember “cinemas exist,” you are missing half the systems that still shape warehouses, trucks, and import piers in 1.0.
Cinemas and theaters
Two premium business types landed on Broadway: cinemas and theaters. Hire actors, stage crew, and projectionists; sell tickets plus concessions such as popcorn, cotton candy, slushies, and cheese platters. Licensing fees are steep. Player guides and Steam threads agree: overstaffing performers is the usual bankruptcy path. Deep how-to: cinemas and theaters.
Hotfixes reserved at least one cinema/theater for the player, fixed rivals visibility, stairs navigation, and 24-hour open rules, and updated building descriptions. Later notes also chased theater floor access and FPS dips — if your two-level venue still feels broken on an ancient experimental save, move to the default 1.0 branch before you redesign the seats.
Treat ticket demand like any other Market Insider board. High promotion with cold ticket demand means the location or the rival mix is wrong, not that you need five more actors. Concessions are how you recover license bleed once the room fills.
Broadway revamp
More billboards, neon, street performers, C.A.S.T Recruitment Agency, and Red Carpet Decor / Depot furniture for venues. Broadway became the entertainment district identity the map still uses in 1.0. Walk it once with map filters on so you can find recruitment, furniture, and the remaining player-available shells without guessing from memory of a 2024 screenshot.
Street performers and Party Pier colour are lifestyle flavour. They do not replace a staffed gift shop. Use them as landmarks when you teach yourself the block, then go back to make money for the empire math.
Factory revamp
Factories were rebuilt for clearer layouts, less belt pathing pain, less ingredient hoarding in one input, faster lines, worker skill impact, and broader product coverage. Industry City truck QoL added dealer delivery of vehicles to warehouses and a bridge skipper so you stop living on the crossing. Practical play: factories and vehicles.
If your Workshop factory blueprint still shows ghost stations, filter for a post-0.10 / 0.11 file or rebuild. The 0.10 redesign is why old clothing-factory YouTube ratios can still look right on paper and wrong on the floor. Pair production with a real warehouse receiving bay before you celebrate throughput.
Import piers and Party Pier
Piers 1–4 gained cinema/theater products (popcorn, cotton candy, tea, slushies, and friends). Pier 5 became Party Pier — casino boat still Friday evenings, pier usable all week. Piers 6–9 (including newly opened Pier 9) refreshed raw goods for the factory pass. Import loop: importing.
Higher import quantity caps and larger box sizes also arrived in this era, which matters when you try to keep a cinema concession wall and a retail chain fed from the same purchasing-agent roster. Seat the agent, name the desk, and keep destination shelves empty enough to receive Monday deliveries.
Employees, UI, performance
Smarter wage negotiation with visible demands; rival staff carry over on takeovers more correctly. Packing Tool in interior designer, hanging delivery signs, purchasing-agent mass assign, rivals filter on Voogle Maps, sell-all on shelves, higher import caps, tea on industrial coffee machines, shadow-off options, and large customer-group optimizations all landed in this era.
Performance work was not a side note. Large customer crowds and shadow options were aimed at machines that struggled when Broadway and Industry City both got busier. If 1.0 still stutters, check system requirements and turn shadows off before you blame logistics AI.
What 0.10 did not finish
0.10 did not add The Hamptons, Onyx chauffeurs, or the 1.0 tax pass — those are launch systems on version 1.0 and The Hamptons. It also did not finish official Workshop mods; that is EA 0.11. Read this page for show business and factory bones, not for mansions.
Who should reread 0.10 in 1.0
Anyone opening Broadway entertainment, rebuilding a factory after an ancient YouTube layout, or wondering why Pier 5 looks like a carnival. Skip this page if you only needed The Hamptons — that is pure 1.0. Next EA milestone: EA 0.11. When you are done, return to the guides hub and pick the systems page that matches the leak in your save.
