Version 1.0 Full Release

Big Ambitions 1.0 is the full Steam release of Hovgaard Games’ New York business RPG. Early Access began 10 March 2023. Launch day is 28 August 2026. This page is a player’s digest of what that number means, not a paste of every changelog bullet. For the years of EA that made Industry City, read early access. For how to play the new map, stay on the guides hub.

Hovgaard’s own pitch: build an empire, overtake rivals, rags to riches. The 1.0 trailer (and the announcement trailer on the home page) is the mood. The systems below are the substance.

The Hamptons

Seventh neighborhood. Mostly residential, with a small fancy retail strip and new luxury stores. Mansions are the headline: if you have outgrown a Midtown penthouse and have a few million to spare, this is the driveway. Uncle Fred and golf-nemesis Richard have homes here. Special rivals do too, unless you already drove them out of the city.

Treat The Hamptons as a late-game sink and a status screen. Make money in Garment District and Hell’s Kitchen first. Rank the strip with Market Insider the same way you rank any other block — see neighborhoods. Community listings have shown house prices from the high tens of millions on the largest lots; your save’s realtor UI is the live number.

Furniture, minigames, and breathing room

1.0 adds a stylish furniture pass for homes and businesses, plus minigames and activities so the grind has a valve. These do not replace employees or warehouses. They exist because a 200-hour save needs something that is not another checkout.

Workshop blueprints from 0.11 still matter more than any single new sofa. Subscribe to a layout, then edit. The furniture drop is for the rooms those blueprints could not tastefully fill.

Quality-of-life on the company side

Personal driver — Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs: drop any car (or the Onyx limo) in their garage and summon a ride. Deep dive: vehicles. Speedy Bites food delivery — meals to home or business, or gigs you run yourself; see housing. HQ pricing manager — neighborhood-wide prices, with skilled staff suggesting daily numbers. Banking update — negative interest is gone, loans need more income but allow partial payments and a higher Vantander cap, funds auto-invest and partial-withdraw, taxes show in Econoview with extra deductions and a 10% late fee. Players posted first-cycle bills in the low tens of thousands after eight-figure EA nightmares; some now buy property on purpose in a tax week. Do not assume a 2023 “never buy buildings” video still holds. Walkthrough: banking.

Energy now drains faster when hunger or happiness is low. Eat twice a day. Dance floors open a happiness minigame. Brick Breaker runs on home PCs. Hamptons owners get Halcyon Fairway and tennis. Exporting too much of a good now drops that item’s import price for the rest of the week — importing cares. 27 new achievements (126 total at launch).

None of these delete the need for a seated purchasing agent. HQ remains the brain. Read headquarters before you hire a driver you cannot afford.

What did not change

Single-player only. Steam Workshop. Achievements (126 at launch). Windows and macOS. Unsupported Steam Deck. The spine is still: demand, cap, staff, supply. Factories still live in Industry City. Market Insider still decides whether jewelry is a genius idea or a museum.

DLC is already on the public roadmap as a future, not a launch-day product. Hovgaard said more updates come first. This wiki will not invent a DLC date.

Who should jump in now

If you waited for “not Early Access,” this is the line. Start with getting started and the tier list. If you already have an EA save, test it on a copy: some experimental-to-live jumps have broken modifiers before. Steam news is the authority on save compatibility.

If 1.0 feels heavier on the GPU, check system requirements. Dedicated GPU is not a suggestion on Mac.

Launch also ran an introductory Steam discount window into early September 2026. Prices move; the Steam page is the live tag.

The honest summary: 1.0 is the same excellent, clicky, walking tycoon with a richer city and fewer “we will add that later” caves. It is not a reboot. If you bounced on logistics, The Hamptons will not carry you. If you bounced on a thin late game, the new neighborhood and lifestyle tools are the best argument to come back.
